Finding the Perfect Fit

  • What you'll need -- A cloth tape measure and a full-length mirror. For best results take body measurements undressed or in lightweight clothing. Keep your arms at your side and have a friend take the measurements. When measuring, keep the tape measure snug, but not tight. Stand up straight!
  • For Jackets use your chest size. To find your chest size, take measurements under armpits, around fullest part of chest and shoulder blades measure your chest. Note: We only stock Regular sizes. No Longs or Shorts. If you are over 6 feet tall (72") our jackets may be a bit too short for you.
  • For Troursers use your waist size. To find your waist size Measure around where you normally wear your pants, keeping the tape measure a bit loose or putting one finger between your body and the tape measure. Note, most models of German trousers have very high waists so you should measure higher on your waist, almost to your navel.
  • For Coats and Parkas use your chest size. Order the same size you would in a Jacket. Coats are parkas are sized to fit over a jacket so order the same size.

Finding the Perfect Fit

  • Measure both feet. Some people have one foot slightly larger than the other. Choose the size that fits the larger of the two.
  • Consider the socks or tights you'll wear most often with your shoes. For thicker socks or tights, you may want to order shoes 1/2 size larger than you normally wear.
  • Measure your feet in the afternoon, when feet tend to be their largest.
  • If you require a wide width and no wide width sizes are available, try ordering a ½ size larger in the regular width.

Cap Size Table

Calculating Your Correct Hat Size.

To calculate your metric (European) cap size a measurement of the head circumference should be taken in centimeters. This is best achieved by passing a cloth tape measure around the head. Alternatively a piece of string may be used and measured against a ruler or tape measure. It is important that this measurement is taken where a hat would normally rest. To take a measurement position the tape measure or string so that it rests just above the brow at the front of the head, touching the top of the ears at the side. Pull the tape so that it is taught but not too tight and take a measurement.

Hats are sized to the nearest whole centimeter so it is advisable to size up if your head falls between two measurements.

To find the correct belt size measure around your navel, above your regular trouser belt. Remember, these belts were worn high on the waist, not down like jeans.
