If you need a good basic field belt, look no further. Steel Face Plate with Star, Hammer & Sickle. Heavy canvas webbing. Just like WW2. Leather rotted quickly, so they went with canvas. Steel rusts but doesn't reflect. BRASSO was not a Lend-Lease necessity.

Good News: This belt is !00% bad azz! Buckle is killer and the belt is the same cool color/material as my Mosin's strap. Not So Bad News: It is pretty dang wide and since it's from a Commie country, it's set up Lefty. I had to work the belt through the loops while my pants were off since it was backwards (Not the way God and our Founding Fathers intended a belt to be) and tricky to get through them. Overall: You need this belt!

There was a time (cue old militaria collector voice) when these Soviet field belts were dirt cheap. As with everything, the supply eventually dries up. Some of the worst, beat up belts are going for a mint on a certain internet auction site. Hessen Antique is the last place with EXCELLENT condition Soviet belts. The one I just received must have been issued to a admin specialist, because it looks to have never seen any dirt. Great item, great price!!!

Be aware though, the olive drab is very drab, and the buckle is large enough to be garish. If you want a subtle piece of history to wear daily, this one lacks a little subtlety. That said, I like it.
