Original German M40 Helmet shell, used in Czechoslovakia as a fire department helmet in the post-war years.  These are perfect for restoration projects.  Helmet shells are painted black, show lots of wear and storage age but they are solid with no holes, cracks or dents.  Liners, split pins, chinstraps and other accessories are available separately.

• The M1940 helmet was produced out of improved manganese-silicon steel and like the M1935, had rolled edges around the circumference of the helmet. The primary difference between the M1940 and the M1935 is in the shape of the air vents. The air vents on the M1940 helmet were stamped directly into the steel. M40 helmets were normally issued with only one branch of service decal for WH, LW, KM and Waffen SS forces.
