The sports badge was awarded by the D.R.L. (German National Union for Physical Training) to German soldiers for athletic achievement and to promote physical fitness among the German people. The bronze level badge was given to personnel between the ages of 18 and 32 years old who passed the required level of physical training in a twelve month period. Awarded to all branches of service.
