Great, well made, solid hat. Excellent quality. The only detractor is the bizarre orange colored leather sweat band.

An affordable shako |

This is an affordable shako--since I have plans to convert mine to a Polizei shako, I won't focus on the WWI Bavarian features. There are problems with the construction of the shako-the fit is off and rides too high--that can be adjusted by making a cut into the liner--the liner itself is made of orange leather--which seems an odd choice, since that orange shows from the sides between the front and rear brims. This leather liner was never properly attached to the inside of the rear brim, and is flapping loose--I'll have to work on that. Basically, it's ok,and I can probably fix the problems,but it really should've been better, although the price is good.
